Rosibel Carvajal

Rosibel Carvajal was born in Heredia, Costa Rica, in 1966. Daughter of Soleída Chavarría and Álvaro Carvajal, she showed an early inclination for the arts, participating in dance, acting, and school parades. Despite struggling with stuttering, her mother, following the advice of her school principal, encouraged her to sing. This not only improved her speech but also her other artistic abilities. In 1984, Rosibel entered the National University of Heredia, where she studied International Relations, earning her bachelor's degree and pursuing a licentiate with an emphasis on international politics. She later studied journalism at the Latin University of Costa Rica. Additionally, she developed her talents in painting and sculpture at La Casa del Artista and trained in playwriting with renowned figures like Sanchís Sinisterra, Fernando Marías, Jeannette Rodríguez from Planet Films, and Costa Rican Walter Fernández. For many years, Rosibel was the host of the program “Noticias Columbia” on Radio Columbia, 98.7 FM. She also worked as a Spanish teacher for foreigners at ICLC in Alajuela, representing Costa Rica in master classes in Rochester, Minnesota, USA. Rosibel Carvajal is known for her performances in "Un Regalo Esencial" (2018), "Tres Marías" (2010), and "The Accursed" (2010). Her artistic and professional career is marked by the unwavering support of her family and her deep faith.
