Tamar Surovich

Tamar Surovich

Tamar Su’s project is a diverse breath of creativity. She writes gentle folk-rock songs about unbearable loss and love, alienation, the need to belong versus freedom and self fulfillment. Her music is influenced by various female artists such as France Gall, Jane Birkin as well as Israeli rock singers and it has ethnic tinges, manifesting the musical and geographic line that connects her home in France with her Israeli homeland. In 2000, she participated in the children's film " Magic Hat " on the children's channel as Rina “Gray Roofs” is Tamar’s debut single. The lyrics were written while gazing at the Paris Skyline from the 21st floor. Magic lights in winter gray reflect nuances in the relationship with her beloved. First translated from Hebrew to French and later recorded in Tel Aviv and Paris and released as a double bilingual song. Afterwards Tamar released her debut double album both in Hebrew and French, alongside the release of a short animation film (co-production between Israel and France) that she produced and wrote and will be featuring her original music. These days she is working on her second album with the music producer Shmulik Daniel which will be released on May 2024 alongside Israeli & European tour.
